Acapulco is famous for discos, beaches and night life. What is not so well-known is
that it is one of the best big game fishing destinations on the Pacific. In particular,
sailfish are Acapulco’s trademark. They and mahi mahi, known locally as “dorado”,
can be caught year-round although the peak seasons occur in winter.

Really,  but - who caught it?


Because the  Pacific coast of southern 
Mexico  is mountainous,  the deep blue 
water frequented by most big game fish
is  usually very close to  Acapulco bay. 
We  have  caught  billfish  100   yards 
from the shore!   So, we start fishing
immediately  upon  leaving the  bay, 
and  fish all  the way  back  when we 
return.  Also, the waters surrounding
Acapulco  are lightly  fished  with no 
centers within 100 miles north or 200 
miles  south. This  lack of pressure
contributes to the wonderful fishing
we have during most of the year. 
The best  time for large marlin and
 yellowfin  tuna is during  the winter 
and spring months when  the water 
cools.   Shark are numerous at any 
time, but are easiest to locate from
July through December, when they
are  attracted  by  weed  lines and
floating  material washed into the
sea by the tropical rains.

For  those  who would like to try lighter tackle there is also excellent seasonal small game fishing for bonito, jacks,  or spanish mackerel.

and a little instruction anyone, regardless 
of age, should be able to pull them in if 
they are anywhere near the size of the fish. 
The kids, especially, enjoy using hand lines
to catch the 4-5 pound bonitos which we
use for bait, and which often can be 
caught as fast as you can return the lines
to the water. Our captains have no time
clock to punch and our aim is to make 
your fishing experience the highlight 
of your vacation.

We have a selection of 3 boats & can offer a fishing experience tailored to your
desires & budget.  All are controlled from flying bridges, powered by twin diesel
engines & equipped with the latest navigational & safety equipment.

  At 46 feet (LOA), AVENTURA and MOMENTOS, are identical twins and are without peer in the Acapulco charter fleet. They carry up to 10 rod combinations, are fitted with stainless steel tuna towers, downriggers, freshwater sinks and showers, electric toilets and a complete array of safety equipment making them the safest and best-equipped boats available for charter in Acapulco. Their large bridges, lounging and deck areas are easily accessible and provide excellent opportunities for sunbathing, relaxing or chatting during fishing trips, or comfortable excursions around the bay for larger parties. The English spoken aboard is fluent. 

 

 
   3 AMIGOS  which has just been renovated, 
is slightly smaller at 40 feet but with almost all of
the equipment and amenities of her larger sisters. 
She is as modern, almost as spacious and, like 
all of our boats, she has an open, accessible plan
which makes all of her facilities easily available 
to her passengers. She is a high quality but
more economical choice for a day at sea.

The prices quoted above are per boat per trip and include everything except your food 
and beverages. During Christmas & Easter weeks they could be somewhat higher. 
Charters normally run from 6-7 AM to 2-3 PM, depending on the fishing, but can be 
arranged to fit your requirements. 

You are welcome to bring your own food and beverages if you prefer. However, we can also 
offer an open bar on all of our boats, with beer, a selection of soft drinks and bottled water 
on ice. In addition, you can order from a selection of sandwiches which will be delivered 
to the boat. Both can be arranged when you reserve, or a day or two before departure. 

All of our boats will easily handle 15 or 16 people on excursions around the bay. 
However, when we fish offshore, for safety and service reasons, we normally recommend
a maximum of 8-9 people with 4 fishermen. This allows for greater participation, for our 
crew to provide the quality of service you deserve, and room for us to run when we have to.
We do not arrange shared charters, so the boat will be exclusively for your party.
